Testgram is an open source, self-hosted MTProto messaging server. This page documents one public deployment of it — the server behind https://testgram.xie.su, its licence, its clients, and how to verify any of this.
Testgram is a C# implementation of the Telegram server-side API, forked from MyTelegram. It speaks MTProto, the protocol Telegram clients use, so standard clients can connect to it once pointed at the right server. The running version is 0.38.224.
Testgram is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Telegram. It is an independent project. Telegram's own clients, and the client codebases Testgram builds on, belong to their respective authors.
LICENSE.The server speaks MTProto over TCP, on the Abridged and Intermediate transports. Six data centre endpoints are open on this host, plus TURN for calls and RTMP for live streams:
20443, 20543, 20643,
20644, 30443, 3044434781935Testgram works with existing Telegram clients. Point a client at this server and it connects. Clients with dedicated Testgram builds are listed on the apps page; the upstream client repositories Testgram is built against are listed there too, including the iOS and Web clients.
Private and secret chats with end-to-end encryption, supergroups, channels, reactions, bots including BotFather, Stories, voice and video calls, group calls and voice chats, live streams, push notifications, two-factor authentication, Telegram Business, Stars and star gifts, passkey login, stickers and custom emoji, topics, folders, and scheduled messages. Voice messages are transcribed and messages are translated, through third-party services — see the privacy policy.
Premium is implemented and enabled on this server. At the moment it is granted automatically when an account is created, at no cost. Charging for it is planned for later; there is no paid tier to buy today.
There is no moderation on this deployment today. No automated content scanning runs, and no block counters or transparency reports exist. Both are planned for the future, and what exactly will be automated has not been decided. See the safety page for what this means today.
Testgram is open source under Apache 2.0. Read it, audit it, or run your own instance. The source code section of the apps page links the server and every client repository.
